Porto Velho RO 19/02/2014 - A enchente do rio Madeira, um dos principais tributários do rio Amazonas, em Porto Velho (RO), bateu o recorte histórico e nesta terça-feira (18) alcançou a marca de 17,75 metros , em Porto Velho, segundo a Defesa Civil Municipal. A cheia anormal é consequência do volume de chuvas acima da média nas nascentes do rio Madeira, que ficam na BolÃvia e no Peru. A marca é considerada histórica já que ultrapassa a maior já registrada em 1997 de 17,52 metros. Segundo o Corpo de Bombeiros o número de pessoas que foram afetadas pela cheia atingiu hoje mais de mil, sendo 350 desabrigados e 711 desalojados, mas esse número pode ser ainda maior.
