The Petroperú reported an oil spill from the pipeline Norperuano in Urarinas, Loreto.

Although Petroperu reported that no river in the area was contaminated, communities say the Marañón basin is contaminated, because “they noticed (the spill) when the fish were already dropping dead.”

The incident occurred on February 3, in the North Branch of the Nor Peruano Pipeline near to Mayuriaga river, in the district of Morona, province of Datem Marañón, Loreto region.
