Segundo dados do MapBiomas Alerta, a área desmatada do estado aumentou de 9.905,86 hectares, em 2019, para 18.342,57 hectares, em 2022. Embora as florestas maranhenses ainda ocupem uma grande porção do território estadual, essa cobertura nativa diminuiu 5,53% nos últimos 10 anos.
Journalist, Master in Communication from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and specialist in Data Science from Esalq/USP. She works with investigative and data journalism, researching transparency, use and appropriation of data in journalism. She is the data coordinator at InfoAmazonia, and integrates the board of the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) and the network of ambassadors for Civic Innovation of Open Knowledge Brasil (OKBR).
