It puts together the database of roads ,collected by Raisg on their “Amazon Under Pressure” Altas, and deforestation, as measured on Brazil´s INPE data. On the center of the map, the intersection between two of the main roads in the Brazilian Amazon, the BR163 and BR-230, the also Transamazônica Highway.

    Belo Monte dam

    The Belo Monte hydroeletric power plant, in Brazil, it is planned to be ready in the next 3 years. It is a massive project set to generate more than 5000 megawatts/hour by damming the Xingu River, in the state of Pará. On this map, the region featured show the area affected, know as the Volta Grande do Xingu, where many indigenous tribes are located. Also is possible the see the exact location of the new dam.
